Meet The Face Behind VANTAGE CONSULTING, INC.
I’m Terance Williams, the proud owner of VANTAGE CONSULTING, INC. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
Growing up, I had no idea what my options were, but I had an open mind. I was looking for a new opportunity. Somewhere that would encourage growth. Fortunately for me, I found just that in the direct sales and marketing field. From my first interview, I was intrigued by the vibrant atmosphere and energy and the goal-focused mindset of my peers and mentors. I understood quickly there was no ceiling to what I could achieve, and with two years of experience set up VANTAGE CONSULTING, INC. at the end of 2021.
Sales and marketing have always been fast-paced and highly progressive. The COVID-19 pandemic has only hastened the field’s rapid evolution, and the change to an increasingly online work environment has been swift. The other apparent changes are access to new markets and an utterly new customer base.
For me, the most enjoyable part of the business is the development and training that comes along with being a manager and leader in this business. Having the opportunity to help others achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding.
My goal is to bring as many people to my position as possible. I want to create a hub for young professionals in the DC, Maryland and Virginia areas where people are encouraged to reach their full professional potential. Vantage, by definition, means “a position giving a strategic advantage, commanding perspective, or comprehensive view.” Our philosophy is “process before progress.”
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is I think that hard work trumps talent every day. We believe that good company culture provides an environment where employees feel safe but are pushed to be the best version of themselves. I also believe that managers do not promote people. People promote themselves.
I attribute my success to my work ethic and commitment to networking. I was never considered the most talented at sales or the best at recruiting. However, I would have to say that I have always been the person that was most willing to put in the necessary time and effort to get the job done.
My very last day in the Atlanta office before being promoted out to opening my office in Maryland was a moment that has given me immense satisfaction over the years. To see the result of what my hard work and commitment had left behind was probably the most fulfilling and satisfying moment of my time in the business.
When I am not at work, I enjoy reading and listening to music and films. I’m also a huge movie buff. But what I enjoy most of all is spending time with my two fantastic daughters, Kylah and Amari.
I also believe in giving back to society, and as part of that belief, I influence, encourage and promote others into business for themselves.
